Would you like to have the Common Application finished by the start of your senior year? In this five-day workshop students will complete the application, finish the Common App essay, and additionally work to complete one college supplement essay.  Through the analysis of actual college essays and individual feedback, students will be guided through the process of crafting unique and effective writing for their applications. Now in their eighth year of providing this popular workshop, Mrs. Norden and Ms. Campbell bring a depth of experience and expertise to the college application process. This workshop is geared to rising seniors from all area high schools.

Requirements: Because we will be accessing the online Common App, students must have a laptop they can bring to class each day.  In addition to the three hours spent in class, students will have approximately an hour of work each evening as they revise and edit their essays.

VHES tutors Heather Hagood and Maria Massaro are skilled in explaining college entrance exams and providing test-taking strategies that help students avoid common errors, work at a faster pace, and reduce anxiety. With ample experience in subject tutoring and test preparation, these instructors will assist students in understanding the structure of the exams, analyzing questions, and identifying correct answer choices. Students will be provided with booklets that include helpful guidelines and timed exercises.

Requirements: Students will need to bring a calculator, pens, pencils, and erasers.
